What you need
Steps
- 1
Open the hook card
Open your video from My Videos. Find the card Hook above the effects.
- 2
Pick a hook
Tap Add a hook. The hooks marked Best fit match your video. Search by a word if you want a mood.
- 3
Watch the start
The hook plays first, then cuts into your video. Not right? Tap Change hook, or Remove hook to go back.
- 4
In a chat video
In a video made in chat, type "add a hook" or "try another hook" in the chat. It is free there too.
Why a borrowed hook works
A hook from a reel that already went viral has proved it stops people. Your video then starts with a second that works, and your own idea gets the attention.
Your task
Add a hook to one video, then read its score again.
It worked when: The video opens with the hook, and the Hook part of the score went up.
If something goes wrong
- The hook does not match the mood of your video.
- Tap Change hook and pick one marked Best fit, or search a word for the mood, like "funny" or "shock".
Questions
